7 Reasons We're Excited About FitRetreat 2017!

Ladies, it's that time of year again. City Fit Girls FitRetreat is back for it's 5th year! FitRetreat is a fun-filled day of fitness and wellness for women. Each year, we reach out to some of the best fitness trainers, instructors and wellness professionals to host 150 women in our community. This year, we're excited to announce that we've made a few changes and additions to the event (all good changes obviously).
Each FitRetreat attendee will get access to three fitness sessions, a catered buffet brunch, cocktails (including mimosas - yes, please!), a unique City Fit Girls x Nike tech shirt, a chance to demo new Nike running and training shoes, and an afternoon of wellness, professional, and motivational discussions and workshops.
Want in on the action? Tickets for FitRetreat will be available here on Friday, May 26th at 9AM. Set your alarms because tickets are limited. Register your friends or get ready to make some new ones.
In the meantime, read on to find out seven reasons we're excited to about FitRetreat 2017.
1. The Community
If having 150 women surround and support you throughout a full day of fitness sounds empowering, you're right, it is. FitRetreat unites women from all over the East Coast who identify with this community. If you believe in inspiring other women to be their best, this event is for you.
2. The Nike Swag
This year, we're teaming up with Nike to offer tech shirts for each and every FitRetreat attendee. The shirt will be moisture wicking, making it a perfect option to wear during the event and beyond for your workouts and group runs. P.S. It's totally safe to expect Nike to have a few giveaways throughout the day.
3. The Food
Did someone say brunch? We sure did. Chef Joy Parham-Thomas will be dishing up a buffet brunch for ALL FitRetreat attendees. Joy is the owner of Urban Country Culinary Concepts, a catering company located in Philadelphia, and was a contestant on Season 12 of the Fox hit series Hell’s Kitchen. She's kind of a big deal.
4. The fitness "party" to kick-off the day
If you like to start your day with a H.I.I.T. workout, you're in luck. One of the first sessions of the day will be a 45 minute sweat session that combines bootcamp with dancing and a DJ to play your favorite current hits.
P.S. Our instructors are going to be working you out all morning so get ready to sweat beyond the first hour of the day!
5. The yoga
Whether you're new to yoga or you're an experienced yogi, there's a session for you. Zen out once (or all morning) with some of the best yoga teachers in the city. Pick your poison, you can choose between Restorative Yoga and Power Yoga. Just don't forget to bring your own mat. Namaste.
6. The cocktails
In addition to the mimosas, we're partnering with QC Malt to add more boozy brunch cocktails to the mix. Network with other women over brunch before heading to our afternoon sessions..
7. The workshops and discussions
It's more than working out. From conversations on body positivity with our co-founder Kiera Smalls to personal branding with Melissa Alam of the Fearless Conference and more, our afternoon workshops and discussions are a perfect way to balance out a full day of fitness. You'll leave FitRetreat feeling empowered and inspired from our workshop leaders.
Bonus: The Kick-off (Pre Registration Party)
We're excited about the pre-party the night before with food by sweetgreen. The pre-party gives you a chance to check-in for the event, eat, dance a little and connect with women from our community. If you plan to come alone, this is the perfect night to meet a workout partner for the next day.
