Recap: We Tried Focus Barre & Yoga

We were excited to host (2) private sessions at Focus Barre & Yoga in Rittenhouse for a few reasons. First, we hosted a private session with them FOUR years ago when they first opened their doors. It's amazing to see how much they've grown. Second, Jill and her team are absolutely amazing.

They were very welcoming, kind, and supportive. All the traits you need when considering joining any studio. Lastly, the workouts are unique (and tough). You will feel like you've accomplished all there is to accomplish after just one session in this studio.

Recap: We Tried Vitality Meditation Studio

Have you ever tried or considered trying meditation? Meditation is known for reducing stress, improving concentration and increasing happiness.

City Fit Girls traded in our Saturday workout for a meditation class with Vitality, a boutique meditation studio in the Fishtown neighborhood in Philadelphia. 

Prior to attending class at Vitality, the only guided meditation I tried before was with the Headspace and Calm app so I was very excited to experience a session led by an instructor that I can see surrounded by other students.

If you haven't tried BPM Fitness yet, you are missing out. They have created a very unique workout experience unlike anything I've seen in the Philadelphia area. When I first tried the studio a few weeks ago, I joined without any hesitation. I felt strong, empowered, and like a total badass. When the opportunity came up for City Fit Girls to host two private workouts, we jumped on it right away.

Recap: City Fit Girls x Fit Tribe

This past weekend, we headed to Center City for two back-to-back sessions at Fit Tribe, a gym that provides both group personal training as well as one-on-one personal training. We learned about this gym from our friend and Coach, Rosie, who teaches at their Bryn Mawr location. She hosted a workout at last year's City Fit Girls' FitRetreat and we heard nothing but positive reviews. The best part about Fit Tribe? All workouts are just 30-minutes!

Freehouse Fitness offers rebounding, reformer and band workouts that are  tough, effective and fun! Recap: City Fit Girls Tried SLT - Strengthen, Lengthen, Tone (And It Was Tough!)

On Monday December 11th, we opted for an indoor sweating and goal setting session with our friends at SLT (Strengthen Lengthen Tone) in Philadelphia. SLT is a full body workout that is done with weighted springs (on a megaformer) that requires constant engagement of the core for 50 minutes. They have studios in New York City, Brooklyn, Boston, and more so you can try them out if you're not in the Philadelphia Region.

Studios & Gyms That Will Change The Way You Look At Working Out

Ever go to a gym but feel unsure of what to do once you get there? Are you tired of having to wait in line for weights after the "I like to pick things up and put them down" bros finish their reps? Trying to get in a 30 to 45-minute sweat sesh shouldn't be so daunting. It should be fun!

And that's where fitness boutiques, or personalized fitness studios, come in. They are small and personable with some seriously creative programming. While the costs for these unique experiences can get pricey, let's just rejoice at the fact that there are new ways to workout and have fun while doing it.
