Here's What You Need To Know About The Ghost Race 2018

Our friends at Lululemon have teamed up with STRAVA again for The Ghost Race, a virtual 8K race in Philadelphia and 11 other North American cities. Our Philly crew will be hitting the course on Sunday, October 14th and you’re invited to join in on the fun. Here’s what you need to know…


When & Where

The Ghost Race officially kicks off October 12th and will continue through October 21st. You can run the course in your city as many times as you like but if you’re in the Philadelphia Region, we invite you to join us on Sunday, October 14th at 9:30AM to run the race as a group.

Where: We’ll meet at Lloyd Hall and run the fast and flat course along the Schuylkill River Trail.

How Long Is An 8K?

Good question. An 8k is equivalent to about 4.97 miles. Don’t let the distance worry you. If you’ve covered 5 miles (or close to it), you’ll be fine to cover the distance - even if you have to walk/run!

What To Bring: A phone or watch with GPS tracking! Also, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and check the weather so that you dress appropriately for the run. You may also want to bring a handheld water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the duration of the race.

How To Register for The Ghost Race

The Ghost Race is 100% FREE of charge. All you have to do to is register through STRAVA. Strava is a social fitness network that is used to track cycling, running, and swimming activities, among others, using GPS data.

If you’re new to Strava, be sure to sign up before the Ghost Race and join City Fit Girls Run Club on the app.

If you can’t make it out to City Fit Girls’ run on Sunday morning, no big deal. You can run The Ghost Race any time bewtween 10/12 and 10/21.
