Barre Cardio
[cardio + sculpting] Your favorite Barre moves with an additional cardio component! This class blends the most effective isometric barre exercises with lunge sequences and other cardio moves creating a 50-minute power packed workout. Prior barre experience recommended but not required!

ResistIt
ResistIT is a 50-minute bootcamp class that utilizes resistance bands and hand weights to sculpt lean muscle, build strength and balance. This cardio intensive class includes a 10-minute Tabata style cardio sequence that will get your heart racing and leave your muscles burning.

About the Session:

"Happy Mind" - Join psychotherapist, Jessica, for an afternoon meditation to help you set a positive tone. This is an instructor-led meditation geared to support you in releasing stressful thoughts while cultivating positive emotions and feelings. This session will be very helpful as you prepare for your new week!

We're really excited that studios and gyms open their doors free of charge to City Fit Girls. Because of the limited spaces available, we ask that you only register for classes if you are 100% committed to attending. Get ready for a fun and intense workout that will sculpt and tone your abs and glutes from every angle! We will be hosting two workouts at two different times. Be sure to read the descriptions below to decide (quickly) which workout you want to experience. BONUS: Hang in the lobby from 1-2PM between classes to chat with other CFG friends, enjoy juice sips and special giveaways like Freehouse's signature silicone wrist weights, gift certificates to juju salon & organics and more!

Workout Option 1: Rebounding - High Flyer

A heart-pounding total body cardio class on our world-class bungee rebounders. In this class, you'll rock out with 30-35 minutes of nonstop cardio moves that include arms, abs, and legs. Be prepared to sweat and MOVE as you pump your legs quickly to the beat of the music. Then we'll slow it down with upper body sculpting moves using 4-7lb weights and our unique studio power reels! 

Workout Option 2: Reformer - Flex Cardio

With lots of variety, this class will sculpt every muscle group with a focus on muscle endurance and control! Then for an extra kick (and jello legs), this class includes a cardio interval on the low-impact Jumpboard to give you added leg strength (a great compliment to running) along with an elevated heart rate for the extra burn!

This 90-minute class will build strength for a runner’s most chronically stressed areas: the hips, hamstrings, and calves. See Chicks Run 5K walk/run and 10K race

Philly Girls in Motion invites City Fit Girls to participate in the 6th Annual See Chicks Run 5K walk/run and 10K race on Sunday, June 4th 8:30 am. See Chicks Run is the ONLY all-female race event in Philadelphia, held each year on the gorgeous Forbidden Drive trail in Fairmount Park. The out and back, flat, gravel course is both runner and walker friendly, situated alongside Wissahickon Creek with shaded views of the water and covered bridges. Participants have the option to run or walk the 5K and run the 10K; age group prizes will be awarded for each race.

All proceeds of See Chicks Run support Philly Girls in Motion, a registered nonprofit that delivers sports and physical fitness programs to underserved girls in Philadelphia. Click here to register.

Blossom Philadelphia 5k Night Race

The 5k Night Race & After Party begins at the Philadelphia Art Museum and is the only weeknight race grandfathered in by the city. There is something for everyone: a 5k race for competitive athletes or a walk/run for friends and co-workers. After the race, head over to Eakins Oval for the After-Party at the Oval! A fun event with food trucks, music, and a place to rest some weary feet.  Think Cow and the Curd, The Tot Cart, Undrgrnd Donuts, Sweet Box Cupcakes, Taco Mondo, and Baby Blues Barbecue and a Victory Brewing beer garden.
 
Proceeds from the race help Blossom achieve their mission: to change the lives of children and adults with disabilities (cerebral palsy, autism, down syndrome, head trauma, and any condition that limits a person’s ability to function independently) in the Philadelphia area.

Rebuilding Together Philadelphia's Run to Rebuild 5K

The mission of Rebuilding Together Philadelphia is to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners. On May 20th, RTP’s only annual fundraiser, the 7th annual Run to Rebuild 5K Run/2 Mile Walk, will take place on Forbidden Drive in Fairmount Park.  Proceeds from the event support the RTP’s important work: revitalizing vulnerable communities by transforming vulnerable homes into safe, healthy and energy-efficient homes.

The event is family friendly and includes face painting, kids’ activities , and a kids’ dash. This year Stateside Urbancraft Vodka will also be providing free Bloody Mary’s and Screwdrivers post-race for all participants. http://www.rebuildingphilly.org/

City Fit Girls Hiking Trip 12/10

Hey ladies! We've had some interest in hosting a City Fit Girls Hike so we're excited to let you know that it's happening on Saturday, December 10th at 8:30AM in the Chestnut Hill section of the City. We will be hiking the Wissahickon Gorge North Loop (About 5.5 miles). This loop is perfect for beginners and will provide beautiful views! 

About the Trail:

Wissahickon Gorge North Loop is a 5.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Chestnut Hill, PA that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. 

Getting there and Parking:

We will enter and exit on Chestnut Hill Ave and Seminole Street. This location is just 2 blocks from the Chestnut Hill West - Highland stop. You can also get there via the 23 bus. Parking is available nearby!
